The IRCTC eWallet is a scheme by which a user can deposit money in advance with the railway and use it along with other payment options provided by the railway for making payments at the time of booking tickets.

Through IRCTC eWallet, users are able to deposit money in advance with the agency and utilize that money as a payment option when booking a ticket. This scheme is in addition to other payment options offered by the agency.

IRCTC eWallet offers the following features:

Verification and authentication of IRCTC eWallet users through their PAN or Aadhaar will be accomplished online.

IRCTC eWallet offers secure booking by providing a Transaction Password/PIN Number that is required to be entered for every booking made through the eWallet.

Users can view IRCTC eWallet transactions history, IRCTC eWallet payments history & change transaction password through a separate link titled IRCTC eWallet.

IRCTC eWallet Account will be credited with the due refund the next day in case of ticket cancellation.

IRCTC eWallet registration and booking is as simple as 1-2-3:

Your IRCTC user ID and password will be required to access IRCTC.

On the “Plan my travel” page, click the “IRCTC eWallet Registration” link.

PAN OR Aadhaar and other details must be provided to complete the verification process.

Online payment of Rs.50/- (Excluding Service Tax) is required as a one-time registration fee.

Redemptions and membership fees are subject to change at the discretion of IRCTC.

Make a minimum deposit of Rs.100/- in the IRCTC eWallet account, and then top up the account with the required amount for bookings.

An account can hold a maximum of 10,000 rupees.

IRCTC eWallet is displayed as another option for payment along with other banks when booking tickets.

 

The following information is important:

The registration fee is Rs 50 plus service tax (non-refundable).

The transaction fee is Rs 10 + Service Tax.

There is no cash refund or redemption available.

You can only use your IRCTC eWallet balance to book railway tickets.

In order to use IRCTC eWallet, you must be registered as an Indian citizen and have an Indian mobile phone number.
