Rajdhani Express Food Menu List

If you did not choose the “no food” option while booking your train, then IRCTC serves meals or snacks in the Rajdhani at set times accordingly. But the menu in the Rajdhani train is often fixed, and they serve food according to it. For example:

  • In the morning, tea or coffee with biscuits, which are mostly tasteless.
  • For morning breakfast, many kinds of breakfast are served, such as paratha, chole puri, idli sambar, bread omelette, or bread jam.
  • For afternoon lunch, rice-dal, pulao, roti or paratha, dal, veg or non-veg sabzi, and finally ice cream or a sweet are given.
  • With evening tea or coffee, a light snack such as a sandwich, samosa, or namkeen is given.
  • There isn’t much difference between dinner and lunch. At night too, they serve the same, like rice-dal, pulao, roti or paratha, dal, veg or non-veg sabzi, and finally ice cream or a sweet.

When the Train Menu Isn’t Enough

There are many passengers who don’t have a problem with these fixed menus. But there are also many who have a problem with this food, because:

  • There isn’t much difference between the morning and evening food; it is the same.
  • Suppose you are sleeping at breakfast time, or you feel like having your evening tea a little later, they won’t serve it to you again because those are their fixed times.
  • Food in the train, pure vegetarian food from a trusted kitchen, baby food, or a birthday cake is hard to get on the train.
  • If you chose the “no food” option while booking your ticket, then because of that you will have to find your own arrangements for the whole journey.

Considering all these problems, one feels like ordering food in the train. While ordering in the train, you can order your favourite food like biryani, pizza, South Indian thali, or famous dishes of the cities along the way. There’s no problem with anything. You don’t have to think that you’ll have to eat boring train food.

Why Order Food Online in Rajdhani Train?

If you order food in the Rajdhani train, you won’t need to eat the boring food from the train’s pantry. You will get food options of your choice.

  • Order from an IRCTC-authorised partner. The Zoop app is listed as an authorised partner on IRCTC eCatering. This means your food order goes through the railways’ official catering system, not from some unknown vendor.
  • You choose not just the time, but the food too. During the journey, you can choose your favourite breakfast, lunch, or dinner from restaurants near your route, and order thalis and much more.
  • Fresh food at your seat. Shortly before the train reaches the location, restaurants prepare your food and deliver it to the coach.
  • Options for every passenger. Jain food, pure vegetarian, kids’ food, cakes, and group orders for families are all available.
  • Pay your way. Pay online in advance or choose cash on delivery.
  • Safer than buying from the platform. The Rajdhani stops for a short time, and running to a stall is risky for both your health and the train.

Zoop has so far served 10 lakh+ passengers and delivered more than 50 lakh meals. It also has 2,500+ restaurants connected across 450+ stations and 7,000+ trains.

  • Order in advance. If you want to order food while travelling by train, order at least one hour before the delivery station, so the restaurant has enough time to prepare and pack the food.
  • Choose a station with a longer halt. Keep in mind that the Rajdhani stops at fewer stations than regular express trains. So, depending on your route, choose big stations like Prayagraj, Kanpur, Bhopal, Vadodara, Nagpur, or Kota.
  • Keep an eye if the train is late. If your train is running late from its scheduled time, the change shows up in Zoop’s order updates. So you can plan according to your correct timetable.
  • Order in line with IRCTC meal times. If you are also taking the train’s food, you can order snacks for the time in between.
  • Ordering for family or a group? For large orders, use group food order in train.
